Helsingin Huiluorkesteri /The Helsinki Flute Orchestra

The HHO was founded in 2012 to give returning flutists a place to perform and grow as musicians within a supportive community. The HHO performs a wide range of music from different time periods: works written specifically for flute ensemble as well as orchestral and chamber works transcribed for this ensemble.

The ensemble welcomes adult flutists of all levels who have had some ensemble experience. The scores we perform allow us to accommodate all but complete beginners, while still offering challenges to those with more experience and more developed skill levels.

The HHO performs several times a year in the Helsinki area. Previous performances include Finnish Flute Association concerts, Linnunlaulu concert in The Church of the Cross in Lahti, performances in Villa Hakasalmi, and at the Tampere Flute Festival.

The HHO rehearses on Sunday evenings at Huopalahti Church, near the Huopalahti train station in Pohjois-Haaga. Rehearsals are held in Finnish and English.
